Traci Royster has been named director of parent and family services at ASU. Royster will be responsible for developing, implementing and administering Appalachian's comprehensive efforts to serve the parents and families of its students. She begins her duties at the end of March. The position was created in response to the growing interest and involvement of parents and family in their students' college experience, and Appalachian's continued efforts to partner with parents and families to encourage student success. Royster has been the internship and student employment coordinator in the university's career development center since June 2006. She was assistant director of student support services in Appalachian's learning assistance program from 2000 to 2006.
