State officials have been meeting with high school students to discuss the dangers of texting while driving. The "Operation Drive to Live 2009" program urges students to participate and observe the dangers of texting while driving and see first hand about safe and responsible driving.140 teenage drivers were killed on North Carolina highways last year, and many of the wrecks involved teen drivers during their commute to and from high school. The texting while driving ban goes into effect on December 1st.
