Dollar Days at Grandfather Mountain

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
With December just around the corner, officials at Grandfather Mountain are gearing up for their annual Dollar Days event. All residents who live or work in one of the five High Country counties can visit Grandfather Mountain for $1.  The five counties included in the High Country are Mitchell, Avery, Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, and Wilkes.

According to Granfather's news director Landis Wofford, because of the current shortage at area food banks, High Country residents can actually visit the mountain next month by donating one or two cans of food per person.  Wofford said this program is called Grandfather's December Food Drive and all donations will be distributed to High Country food pantries.
