Today, the new
state law banning text messaging while driving will begin being enforced. State
lawmakers approved the bill several months ago. Texting and checking or sending
e-mails are against the law while driving, but simply looking through a
contacts list for a phone number is not. A conviction could result in a $100
fine plus court costs.
