Young Students donate to Humane Society

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

A pair of brothers from Valle Crucis Elementary donated $250 to the Watauga Humane Society. Rhett Garrett, a first grader, and Will Garrett, a fifth grader, were able to raise the money by saving up their allowances.  Their mother said her sons heard that $250 would feed all the animals at the shelter for one week, and they wanted to do their part to help the county's furry friends. Now that the Garretts have donated money to the Watauga County Humane Society, they are challenging all the students and teachers at Valle Crucis Elementary to donate more money or blankets to the Watauga Humane Society. Residents who would like to donate have several drop off locations at local business around the High Country.
