Congresswoman Virginia Foxx announced that she will run for reelection in November to represent North Carolina's 5th District in the United States House of Representatives. She has served in Congress since 2005.  Last year, Foxx opposed the bank and automaker bailouts along with President Obama's stimulus package. She successfully led a bill through Congress to improve on-base housing for soldiers in the Army and drafted a bill that stopped the 2008 bank bailout that passed in the House of Representatives in January. Congresswoman Foxx said, "Representing the people of North Carolina's Fifth District in Congress is a great honor and she promises to continue to hold Washington accountable and rein in its reckless spending and wasting of taxpayers' hard-earned money.
