Polar Plunge Re-Scheduled for March 2

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

The Polar Plunge that had been rescheduled for yesterday was canceled once again due to safety concerns. Wind chills expected below zero and wind gusts approaching 40 mph is definitely a safety concern as plungers come out of the water. Ice on the dock was also a factor in the decision to postpone the Plunge. Officials will keep us posted when the new date is scheduled. The 12th annual Polar Plunge at the Duck Pond will benefit the Watauga County Special Olympics. Anyone interested in taking part or to sponsor a plunger call Karon Poteat, Watauga County Special Olympics Coordinator at 264-9511.
