The Crossnore School's Miracle on the Mountain has officially started, and if you haven't seen it, you may want to consider doing so. The play based on the memoir of Mary Martin Sloop, "Miracle in the Hills," tells the story of the remarkable doctors who came into the mountains of Western North Carolina bringing medical care, education and economic development to an under-served area. It's an authentic, sometimes poignant story filled with music and laughter. The drama is also based on a road named after Mary Martin Sloop, and features the story of one woman with a mission and a testament to the power of prayer. The play is written by Bill Wilson and directed by Cathy Stallings. If you are interested in seeing this one-of-a-kind play, it started on Thursday evening and runs all weekend, including tonight and Saturday at 8pm, and it also features a matinee on Saturday at 10am at the Sloop Amphitheater on the Crossnore School Campus in Crossnore. Admission is $10 and all seats are reserved. For more information or to order your tickets in advance, please call 828-733-4305.
