Limestone Baseball Defeats Lenoir-Rhyne
The Limestone College Baseball Team defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University by a 10-3 score Tuesday afternoon at Bob Prevatte Field. The Saints' Josh Lyon hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning while Chad Balderman added three hits and two runs scored as Limestone snapped a two-game losing streak. Lyon's home run was part of a four-run first inning and Limestone led 7-1 after three innings of play en route to the victory. After an RBI groundout by junior first baseman Colton Hansley cut Lenoir-Rhyne's deficit to 7-2 in the sixth inning, Limestone put the contest away with three runs its half of the seventh inning. Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to host Carson-Newman in a South Atlantic Conference weekend baseball series. The first game is scheduled for Friday beginning at 6:00 p.m. Limestone, meanwhile, plays at Anderson on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
