Appalachian's AJ Dohanic is names SoCon Track Athlete of The Week


Appalachian State University track and field senior AJ Dohanic has been named as the Southern Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. Dohanic finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at last weekend's South Carolina Weems-Baskin Invitational with a time of 14.24 seconds. His performance gave him the top 110-meter hurdle mark of any SoCon athlete this season and set a new personal record. Dohanic, who captured the 60-meter hurdle title at the Southern Conference Indoor Championships last month, has also helped Appalachian's 4x100-meter relay team to two first-place finishes in three outings during the outdoor season. Appalachian State returns to action on Saturday when it takes part in the annual Mountain vs. Beach Invitational in Wilmington, N.C.
