Dry Conditions Bring Fire Danger
Local fire authorities are warning people to not perform any outdoor burning over the next few days. Due to lower temperatures, higher winds and dryer air, any outdoor burning is not recommended until Watauga County gets additional rainfall. According to Watauga County Fire Marshall Steve Sudderth, a controlled burn from a week ago flared up again yesterday and a local Fire Department had to respond as it got out of control. Fire departments request no burning until the area recieves a good rain fall.
