Yancey County Chase Ends In Crossnore


A chase involving a stolen vehicle from Yancey County ended near Crossnore Drug Store, May 1, when officers used stop sticks to puncture the vehicle’s tires. Mitchell County notified Avery that a Spruce Pine Police Officer was following the vehicle to the Avery County line. Chief Deputy Dallas Pate said that the driver of the red Chevrolet truck was Brian Sluder, from Asheville. Highway Patrol Sgt. Goodson, of Yancey County said the matter is under investigation.
