RED Day Raises Over $1000 For Area Humane Societies
Yesterday a local organization sponsored a community get together for 3 high country humane societies. Keller Williams Reality featured RED Day yesterday from 2 until 5pm in front of their business on Greenway Road. It was a beatuiful afternoon as folks stopped in to enjoy some of the festivities taking place including inflatable rides for the kids The event brought together Ashe Avery and Watauga Humane Societies in an effort to raise money for the organizations. RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize, and Donate, is an annual event held nationwide by Keller Williams Reality in an effort to improve local communities with the donation of time and energy. Not only did visitors have a chance to adopt pets from the humane societies, the event also featured a raffle and an auction of goods and service that will directly benifit they organizations. Several other animal related businesses were also featured at the RED day event, which is one of the opportunties that all 3 humane societies get to come together to help benifit one another. These organizations included wolfpack pet services, the pet place, pet supplies plus, and Dr. David Linzey of the Watauga Veterinary Hospital. According to David Cook of Keller Williams, the event raised a little over $1,000 towards the three humane societies. The 50/50 split the pot raised $300 with $150 going to the humane societies and $150 going to one lucky winner.
