Asheville Police Searching For Missing Burnsville Woman


Asheville police said they are looking for a Burnsville woman who has not been seen since Tuesday. Police said that 22-year-old Jasmin Melton, of Burnsville, was reported missing by her parents. Her parents said they had not heard from her. According to Police, Melton's car was found abandoned along W.T. Weaver Boulevard. Police said her keys and locks of hair were found inside. Investigators said a note indicating Melton wished to "disappear" was found at her home. Police said that Melton may have been at the Dripolator Coffee Shop about 9 p.m. Monday night, where she asked for a cigarette and talked about wanting to get away. They said her debit card was used at a Hotspot convenience store on Leicester Highway early Tuesday morning. Melton was described as white, 5'1" tall and 100 pounds with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She also had a piercing in her nose.
