Touble on NC 194
Well, if you’re traveling between Valle Cricus and Banner Elk you’re going to have some trouble. The Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the mile and a half section of NC 194 will be temporarily closed. Starting Monday, June 11th through one hundred and twenty days where the work is expected to be completed by early October. The section just east of Banner Elk in Watauga County will be closed to allow crews to perform road work related to the construction of a retaining wall. There are no known businesses that will be affected by this closure; the road will remain open to local traffic only. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour of Pigeon Roost Road, which intersects with N.C. 194 on either side of the work zone.
