Dustin Clarke to Transfer


Dustin Clarke, Former Avery County High School basketball star will transfer from the University of Hartford to Gardner-Webb University. Clarke, a 6-foot-4, guard starred at Avery County High before he signed with Hartford. He was named All-State as a senior averaging 23.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Clarke is known for being an outstanding shooter as well were He also shot 42.9 percent from the three-point line and 92.3 percent from the free throw line.

Clarke will have three years of eligibility remaining, but he will sit out the 2012-13 season in accordance with NCAA transfer rules. While at Herford Clarke only played in ten games for the Hawks as a true freshman last season, averaging just 3.4 minutes-per-game.
