WCC Promotes 2 Employees
Wilkes Community College recently annonced two promotions in its Health Sciences division. Billy Woods accepted the position of dean of Health Sciences division and director of Respiratory Therapy program, effective July 1, 2012. Woods holds a master’s degree in education, adult education and distance learning from the University of Phoenix. He has an Associate degree in respiratory therapy and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and secondary education. Woods is a familiar face at Wilkes Community College, as he has served as director/lead instructor for respiratory therapy since January 2007. Amy Lankford accepted the position of director of the Associate Degree Nursing program, effective July 1, 2012. Lankford holds a master’s degree in nursing from Western Governors University and a bachelor’s of nursing from UNC-Wilmington. She has served as a nursing instructor at WCC since 2007. She has also worked as a nurse at Wilkes Regional Medical Center and Forsyth Medical Center.
