2 Men Arrested After Police Find Arsenal, Drugs And Stolen Vehicle at CVCC


Police in Hickory are investigating 2 men that they arrested over the weekend after they were found with an arsenal of weapons on a college campus. Hickory Police arrested 22 year old Joshua Daniel Stilwell and 21 year old Donald Scott Young, both of Connelly Springs after they were discovered with a stolen car, finding an SKS rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and a second shotgun on the campus of Catawba Valley Community College Saturday night. After searching the wooded from  which the suspects had came from, authorities also found a backpack containing marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription pills. Both men were arrested and charged with three counts of weapons on educational property, possession of a weapon of mass destruction, possession of Schedule II controlled substances, possession of marijuana, Schedule II and Schedule II controlled substances with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stilwell was also charged with breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen goods.
Stilwell’s bond was set at $50,000 secured. Young’s bond was set at $30,000 secured.
