ASU Students Flock Back To Boone


Its a busy week for Appalachian State University as they prepare for the arrival of over 3,000 students tomorrow. ASU will hold their freshman orientation tomorrow with freshmen moving into their dorms at 9am until 12pm with a 1 hour break for lunch and continuing the process from 1pm until 4pm. In addition to the new freshmen, Appalachian will have about 950 transfer students arriving this fall, which will bring total enrollment well over 17,000, including both undergraduate and graduate students. Returning students of ASU will move back in to their residence halls this Saturday. During the move in and orientation, the university has a series of Welcome Week activities planned for students, including a Black and Gold Ceremony to officially welcome freshmen and transfers to the Appalachian Family, DJ dance, outdoor movie night, introductions to student life and other events. Classes will begin for students on Tuesday, August 21st.
