Watauga Soccer Picks Up Win
The Watauga men’s soccer team got a big win last night in their home opener against Wilkes Central last night 6-0. The pioneers are already 2-0 this season with a 2-1 victory in the season opener against Ashe County. Last night against Wilkes Central Alex Parsons dominated the game early, scoring 2 goals back to back in less than 2 minutes giving the pioneers an early 2-0 lead. Watauga with the early lead and momentum scored 3 more times before half for a 5-0 advantage at the intermission. Justin Hall, who was the leading scorer on the JV team last fall, and Logan Raichle each had a goal and an assist apiece and Jake Cody picked up the shutout at goalie.
