The Tree Lighting Ceremony is a traditional event which brings the community together to celebrate the holidays! It is also a great form of celebration for the education and support of renewable energy in Boone!

The tree's light emitting diodes (LEDs) use less energy than filament bulbs. A photovoltaic array is used to charge a battery during the day. At night the battery drains the stored energy to "let there be light". 

We are fortunate enough to host 4 bands for great live music all night long 

Southern Exposure can be considered a Sustainable String-band they're all acoustic! and they'll bring blue grass back to the heart of the high country 

Makayan from Ashville, NC. is a rock- progressive-groove band. 
Wide Eyed Mischief out of Raleigh NC. plays Psychedelic Groove Rock for your Soul. 

Closing the Night Boone's own Nomadic is a melting pot of blues, funk, rock and electronic which brings about dance. 


This is a fundraiser there will be a $5 cover at the door 
This even is open to all ages; before 10pm families and children are encouraged to join!
