Mountaineer baseball hopes to ride the momentum of Sunday's 3-1 win over Georgia Southern into a pair of non-conference match-ups this week. Appalachian closes a four-game home stand Tuesday versus North Carolina A&T and travels to Radford on Wednesday. ASU is 7-14 overall, 2-9 in the conference, while Fifteen of ASU's first 21 games were against opponents currently ranked among the nation's top 100 in the latest RPI rankings. With the tough, first month now behind them, the Mountaineers are looking to put repeat last year, when they won 16 of their final 24 games, including 13 of their last 17 in Southern Conference play. North Carolina A&T at 5-13, has won two in a row. Wednesday, Appalachian makes its first trip to Radford in 11 years. ASU and RU have met only 14 times and the last two were in Boone. ASU has not lost to Radford since the last time they played there, back in 98.
