Avery Baseball Coach Struck By Lightning

GoBlueRidge.net reports that an Avery Baseball coach was struck by lightning Friday. Daniel Jimenez, an assistant coach, was struck by lightning while in the dugout. Jimenez was taken to Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville and stayed the night for observation and was released Saturday morning. As for the game itself, the Vikings were 13-3 winners in five innings. Lady Viking softball defeated the Lady Bearcats by a score of 6-3.
