Avery Viking baseball bounced back from a 9-1 loss to Hendersonville on Monday with a 15-3 win over Mitchell Wednesday, and blasted five home runs in the process. Avery was up 3-0 when Mitchell scored three in the the top half of the third inning to tie the game. When Avery got to the plate, they responded big time, with Steven Daniels knocking a two run homer, Chris Childress followed that with a grand slam. Adam Pate then got his two run homer, and Zach Hall got a solo shot, all in the bottom of the third. The Vikings scored 9 runs in the frame and found themselve up 12-3. In the Vikings half of the fourth inning, Sutton Stanley got a two run homer, and the Vikings got one more run in the inning to put Avery up 15-3, and the ten run rule ended the contest. Adam Pate got the complete game win for the Vikings. The Vikings host Hendersonville Friday.
