The sixth seed Lady Pioneers softball team upset third seeded South Caldwell 2-1 in Taylorsville in the quarterfinals of the NWC Tournament. The Lady Spartans led the entire game 1-0 until the 7th inning. Chandler Butler led off with a single. Then centerfielder Kara Tester drove in the tieing run with a line-drive double to the left field fence. Tester then scored the go-ahead run by stealing home, jumping over the Spartans catcher to score. Tori Wright got the win for the Pioneers, who advance to play second seed Freedom Wednesday night.
