Pioneer Track Athletes Compete In Western Regionals

The Track and Field Western Regionals were held at AC Reynolds Saturday, and the Watauga Lady Pioneers finished 5th and the Pioneer boys came in 6th overall. Watauga had a number of athletes qualify for State Championships this coming Saturday at North Carolina A&T. Hannah Barbour qualified for the 3200 m run, Kasey Jones in the 100 m high hurdles, Kaylan Schneider, Khristina Kanagy, Hailey Middlebrook and Hannah Barbour for the 4 X 800 m relay, Tara Trivette qualified for the high jump, Taylor Cook and Kristina Tracy in the pole vault. Daniel Osborne, Thomas McDonough, Justin Martin and Ethan Poulas qualified in the 4x800 relay, Daniel Osborne also earned a spot in the 3200 meters, Ian Boyd qualified for 110 m high hurdles & the pole Vault, and Jordan Pineda qualified for the shot put & discus. Congratulations to these Pioneer athletes, and best of luck come Saturday.
