After knocking off number 21 Davidson, the Mountaineer mens soccer team looks for its second straight SoCon win Saturday down in the low country against the College of Charleston. The Apps have had 10 days to prepare for the Cougars since the Davidson win. Arie Muniz leads the team and is eighth in the Southern Conference in points with 12 while Tyler Regan has 10 and J.J. Elder is third with eight. Collin Taylor has started seven games in goal making 27 saves. College of Charleston comes into the match at 8-8 overall and 2-2 in the Southern Conference. The two teams split last year.
-Kaitlin Baker scored her first career collegiate goal as ASU womens soccer played the Wofford Terriers to a 1-1 tie in Spartanburg Thursday. After being outshot 5-3 in the first half, Appalachian kept control of the final 65 minutes, holding an 8-3 shot advantage over the Terriers. Caroline Clarke made five saves in goal for Appalachian, and the Apps are now 5-8-4 overall, 2-4-3 in SoCon play. The Mountaineers go to Greenville Sunday to take on Furman.
