Katy Dodd scored in the fourth minute and Caroline Clarke hung on to record a single-season, school record tying, seventh shutout to lead Appalachian State's women's soccer team to a 1-0 win Sunday over Furman, and in doing so, knocked the Paladins out of postseason play. The goal is Dodd's team-leading fourth of the season and the assist from Lindsay Jaffe is her third of the year. With her 18th start of the season, Leigh Morrow tied the ASU record for career starts with 75. Morrow, who has started every game in her four-year career. The win also snaps ASU's seven game losing streak. The Mountaineers close out the regular-season on Friday when they travel to Western Carolina.

ASU men's soccer hosts UNC Greensboro in its final home conference match of the season Tuesday. Appalachian comes in at 4-8-1 and 1-4 in the SoCon after a 2-1 loss at College of Charleston on Saturday. The Mountaineers travel to Gardner-Webb this coming Saturday to take on the Bulldogs in a non-conference match.
