One more football note, as shown here on MTN Sunday night, live as it happened, the Canadian Football League's Gray cup was played in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Montreal Alouettes. Former University of North Carolina quarterback Darian Durant had led his Roughriders into the lead and potential victory, as
Alouettes kicker Damon Duval's game winning field goal was wide. But a penalty against the Roughriders for too many men on the field gave Duval a second chance from ten yards closer and he nailed the 33-yard field goal with no time remaining on the clock and Montreal won the CFL Championship game 28-27. Allouetts receiver Ben Cahoon had five catches for 57 yards and a touchdown and was recognized as the game's Most Outstanding Canadian, while running back Avon Cobourne totaled 85 rushing yards and touchdown, plus 64 receiving yards, and was named the Grey Cup MVP.
