8llws.jpgThe District 7 11 and 12-year-old little league all stars were in action last night at the Optimist Park in Boone. Two Watauga teams faced off as the Americans played the Nationals. The Americans jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning. Then in the second inning, Dakota McCreary hit a rocket that soared over the left-field fence to put the Americans up 3-0. Levi Wilcox then hit another blast in the third, this time a two-run homer. American ended up adding 3 runs in the third and three more in the fifth on their way to a 9-0 win. Hamilton Castle recorded three hits for the Nationals in the loss, including a two-out triple in the fourth inning. It was a well played game with very few strikeouts and only two errors between the two teams. The Nationals had their chances, as they loaded the bases three times, but couldn't bring anyone home. The Americans will play again on Thursday in the winners bracket, while the Nationals play a game tonight as they try to get back in the win column.
